Kiefer Sutherland

I really enjoyed the TV show 24.  I didn't actually watch it when it was on TV, but I rented them from my local library last year and watched them all very quickly.   I am talking about a whole season in one weekend - obsessed.  I loved the action, the drama and the small twists - even though it was so unrealistic (all the chases, shootings in public, and rarely getting injured).

While the show became highly predictable, I kept watching Kiefer Sutherland run around saving the world, sounding like he was out of breath from all the activity.  It fit his character; he was very stressed for those 24 hours at a time.

Recently I started to watch Touch.  I really loved the pilot episode and looked forward to the regular season.  This too is somewhat similar every week - with Kiefer Sutherland's character trying to figure out what his son is communicating to him and how he interprets it and follows the clues.  Decent enough.

But what I don't understand is that Kiefer's voice still sounds so out of breath.  It must just be his speech pattern or he needs to start exercising so he can say more words in a sentence. It is starting to bother me.

2016 Update:  Kiefer is now the Designated Survivor...and since I've only seen the first episode, which is filled with drama - I am giving this Kiefer show a go.  I didn't notice with his voice that would deter me from watching; I hope it is great.

  1. YES. Oh my gosh. Yes. I just googled "Kiefer Sutherland out of breath" and found your blog. I knew it couldn't be just me who was getting annoyed with this. I mean, the guy can't even stand still talking to someone without sounding like he's gasping for air. His kid walks slowly down the street and "Jack" keeps panting as if he is running a marathon. If he has a medical condition or something, I wish they'd get him a chair. The over-exertion is so grating...

    1. Yep, great on 24 but terrible on "Touch". His character is required to show emotion but he is too wooden for it. The other annoying thing is when he has his son with him and knowing full well he is prone to wander off, every time the phone rings he turns his back on then feigns panic looking for him.

  2. So funny, just watching Touch S01E04 and googled "Kiefer Sutherland out of breath" as well to get here. Touch is decent even though pretty far fetched and Kiefer is miscast doing his Jack Bauer running around breathless while everybody else is calm around him.

  3. LOL, watched two minutes of Touch just now and immediately was wondering why he was OUT OF BREATH so I googled Kiefer Sutherland out of breath and well... Her I am, and the tv is OFF!

  4. Same here! Watched the show, wondered why he was constantly gasping for air. So strange!!

  5. Thank goodness I'm not the only one who has noticed this! I thought for years that out of breath acting was due to the 24 series but it's moved over into Touch as if he were out chasing terrorists in every episode! He yells at his son expecting a different response and there never is one. Stop! Don't run away! I think they write unnecessary in for him. Surely this is a medical problem. I "do not" recall this heavy breathing acting when he was much younger even as far back as Flatliners. I'm just glad I'm not the only one exasperated enough by this to google Kiefer Sutherland out of breath and find an actual article. Outstanding! As far as Touch it's beginning to get on my nerves to the point that I may stop watching. I find myself feeling like I want him to calm down through most of the show and it's spoiling it. Argh! I do like the show and Kiefer if he would simply take some deep calm breaths in the slower paced scenes.

    1. The reason he whispers is because some network executive told him that it is dramatic and cool and helps the ratings. I disagree.

  6. I thought it was just me!!! Wow is his heavy breathing annoying or what?! And MUST he say 'Jake' every nine seconds??? Really annoying and stupid since he doesn't respond to it. Thinking of not watching next season...

  7. omgggg my thoughts exactly.. the entire show is overshadowed by sutherland's breathless whispering and screaming "Jake" every 10 seconds

  8. Wow, I never thought when I wrote this post how many people would have searched about this or felt the same way and found my random thought. Thanks for reading! I have to say that I agree with all of you, and after I wrote that, I haven't watched another episode of Touch.

  9. Love the idea of the show and story concepts but this is some seriously bad acting and the dialogue is just painful!!!! Ditto on the inexplicable breathlessness in every scene. I also have to wonder why a parent with a kid who has a habit of disappearing, would walk several feet ahead of him on a busy New York street completely oblivious to the actual location of the child. They need new writers and an acting coach to do this concept justice.

Everyone's comments were spot on... ('',)b

    Cheers from Japan.

  12. Someone should recommend speech therapy to him... Poor breath support can be improved with some simple exercises!

  13. Aaaarrrgghhh!!! I can't stand it anymore! All the loud panting and wheezing and being out of breath for no reason is so extremely annoying that it ruins the whole show for me. Someone please tell him he's not playing Jack Bauer and running from terrorists anymore!! More finesse and subtlety please! Unless it's a medical condition?? I quit watching season 1 after 3-4 episodes because it was driving me crazy and I couldn't enjoy the story. I was hoping it would be different in season 2... but no.

I googled "why is kiefer sutherland always out of breath" and your blog was the first result. So glad I found others who think as I do.

And I agree : it doesn't make sense that he has a kid who always runs away and yet he walks a few feet ahead of him on a busy street without even looking back... someone call child services!!

  14. I wish there was a way to express in writing how funny I found the fact that a lot of people (just like me!) have looked for "Kiefer Sutherland breathing" and landed up on this page. I have had it with my friends telling me how amazing 24 is. I have just seen 2 seasons of the show and am halfway through season 3, years after my friends have seen the show, and I seem to be the only one that was annoyed by the constant 'breathing through the mouth' thing that he does. This blog deserves to be around just for people like me that end up watching the show in the years to come.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Though I have to admit that the show is good, as long as one can tune out the breathing.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Ha ha. Too funny. But I know why he is always out of breath. In touch his character is manic. He holds his breath for minutes at a time which results in his breathlessness. It also affected his sperm count and caused Jakes mental issues.
    Problem solved.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Well, I didn't google, "Kiefer Sutherland out of breath." I googled, "Why does Kiefer Sutherland always whisper?!" Lol, brought me right to your page. The whispering is out of control and I feel like everyone around him starts to whisper after awhile, too.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Me, too! I googled "kiefer sutherland whisper" and SO grateful to find you all. I, too, like the show but don't get it. Didn't watch 24 so don't have experience with him. Just think it's kinda stupid to loud whisper all your lines :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. Thank you....ditto to all of it. Whispering is starting to be contagious on the show....the panting and out of breath is annoying. I swear he didn't do any of that when he was younger....like his vampire in Lost Boys.
Wonder if it is just 'his style' now....or if it is some medical condition. I doubt it. If he was around during Dynasty days he could have been on that show too....a few people did that in that show and it irritated me so I didn't watch it. (yes I am that old...Dynasty was a tv show). We like the story about everyone being connected...the pilot was good and we were interested in it. Everyone is right about him yelling Jakes name...heck if the kid starts to talk and whisper too I am going to stop watching.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Someone should tell the producers. I like Keifer Sutherland but the whisper talking is really getting annoying.

    ReplyDelete
  21. OH MY GOD, My wife son and I have been watching the show, and it has become increasingly painful to watch Kiefer always whisper EVERY SINGLE line. My god, can't he, for ONCE speak in a normal tone? What world is he living in? It is not the one where I do, where normal people speak at normal volumes. I am also so annoyed that I finally googled "why does Kiefer always whisper" to get to this blog. I am very heartened to see how many other people are annoyed by this, but not confident that Kiefer will ever start to speak at normal volume. And they should have a limit on the number of times per episode that the name "Jake" can be spoken. And, finally, why would Jake be seen as such a fun kid by the other kids in school. Where I went to school they would have kicked his ass immediately.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Ha ha ha ha ha! That is sooo funny. And, '...they should have a limit on the number of times per episode that the name "Jake" can be spoken." I completely agree!!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. And here comes another one in need of admitting to the exact same thing :P I googled "Kiefer Sutherland always whispers" and found this blog entry. His voice didn't annoy as much in the first season as it does now, and although I really love the concept of the show, the wheezing is getting on my nerves...

    Greeting from Norway!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I said that I wasn't going to watch Touch this season because of the same 2 things that everyone here is complaining about. I am sick to DEATH of Kiefer being out of breath ALL the time! And another ditto to him yelling "Jake". I googled "why is kiefer Sutherland always out of breath" and I too am glad to find so many others annoyed by the same. Well, even though I said that I wouldn't watch this season, my husband is watching, so I have been too, but I don't think that I can stand it any longer. It is way too irritating!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I heard from several sources , that Kiefer is a severe alcoholic. If true that could be why.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Ok, and besides the annoying method acting (which I never noticed on 24, which I still remember fondly), they have evidently concluded that the original concept, which revolved around a set of protagonists in different world locations connected by some number known by Jake, is no longer good. Welcome to the world of conspiracies and murderous priests, where the meek and mild whispering reporter is now transformed into an action hero of sorts. Thank God at least they added a competent female co-lead to dilute the whispering leading man. Evidently they have invested a lot into this series and are willing to try anything to keep it alive. Well, then, STOP KIEFER FROM WHISPERING AS A START!

    ReplyDelete
  27. LOL this is crazy! I googled as I was watching too becuase I was hoping the man had a medical condition or something. My goodness, some one has had to tell him that it is annoying. They have to be losing views because of it. It is painful to listen to for 40 mins. I can't even concentrate on the story.

    1. I completely agree!!! Constant breathlessness and "Jake"! Husband watches the show, but I try to tune it out by reading the paper.

  28. Right there with ya'll! LOL! Too funny. And the non-stop "jake, jake" is beyond annoying. The dad has got to be the worst journalist ever. He never picks up on Jake's clues. Drives me crazy. The first season was great, i loved the stories and how they integrated. But now it is just ok.... I suffer through because Jake is so cute. Maybe they made it more action packed just to give Kiefer a reason to be so out of breath all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Kiefer is a good actor. Has anyone bothered to consider he may have a medical issue such as COPD or asthma? If it's not a medical issue then they need to permit him to speak in normal voice as the whispering and gasping is bothersome.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I doubt it's a medical condition. If he had asthma or similar infliction affecting stamina, then he'd have a hard time doing all the running about scenes.

Perhaps he's simply one of those people who find it hard to be on time, always running to the set and arriving 5 min past shooting schedule.. every time.

Had I the address of his agent, I'd try mailing one of those watches with an alarm buzzer as well as asking the agent to also provide a ferry man with a golf cart for picking Kiefer up ahead of time for the shoots.

And yes, I agree with you all. It's freaking annoying, both the panting and the unabating hail of "Jake!" exclamations.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Oh, no. Now they have really outdone themselves. After rescuing Amelia, they astutely decided that, before even leaving the area where she was being held, that the best thing to do is to separate. So, Kiefer, the gasping hero, abandons the woman and her daughter, and suggests that they "disappear". Real smart. Excellent writing, very plausible and thought out. I really don't know now what is getting more annoying the ridiculously bad writing, or the constant whispering.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I googled "Kiefer Sutherland speaks in a whisper" and ended up here.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yep....I feel the same way. When he is being interviewed....he doesn't whisper. PLEASE talk normal Kiefer....like the show...but the whispering is getting annoying.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Why didn't any of us think to watch a recent interview to see his speech pattern? Thanks for providing extra info :)

  34. This show has now replaced CSI Miami in my house as the show we watch to make fun of bad acting and preposterous plots. And, yes, that dang whispering and Google are what brought me here.

So, join us in playing the Touch drinking game. Every time you hear the name Jake, you chug a beer. The first ones to finish, out of breath, start whispering (loudly) "drink, drink..." until the others finish.

    1. Your Touch drinking game sounds fun, although I'd probably be drunk very fast.

    3. I got here like everyone cuz I don't have cable TV & check out free movies @ library, so I'm watching The Sentinel (older movie, but good) with Kiefer & Michael Douglas. Kiefer's whispering drives me insane. although I have watched 24 MAYBE 2-3 times from library @ watched Touch (found by accident on YouTube), I have to disagree with some of you, Kiefer has never been a good actor, pleasssse, not even close to one day having a gold guy. I'm sorry Kiefer, but true. I love his father. Anyone old enough to remember how funny Donald was in Kelly's Heros (many yrs ago) where he was standing up in the tank saying "woof-woof"? Don't ask me why I thought it was funny back then, but I fell in love with Donald Sutherland then & he didn't even have a good role. He's an okay actor...doesn't bore me like Kiefer. Back to Touch, GREAT concept for the show, but AGAIN, I agree with ya'll he whispers too much, yelled Jake too often & never kept tabs on the child. Therefore, I never got thru the 1st season. I think someone else should have been chosen for Kiefer's role. The child is great. Due to what some others have said, I may try to go back and catch up. Have to admit though, I can only take so much of Kiefer in any show or movie. Maybe he thinks whispering is sexy...NOT in these types of acting scenes. He would have made it on late night radio as a romantic DJ! Maybe! lol Good Luck Kiefer. Tell your dad my infatuation for him is still in my heart ❤ at 64. Although, Harrison Ford beat him out in Hanover Street, great kissing scene. One of the worst kissing scenes is in The Sentinel (Douglas and Kim, yuk!) and Clooney faking all his kissing scenes, germaphobic I'm guessing. I never write in these, it was fun. Thanks ya'll for reading. I do think it's odd that most of these posts are around the same year.

  35. So true. His breathing is so annoying. Whisper, whisper Jake, breath I can't even focus on the story because it is so distracting.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Haha. Yeah whispering Jack Bauer. Now whispering Martin Bohm.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I search "Kiefer Sutherland whisper" and ended up here. So annoying! This show is a little bit out dated. When Martin Bohm woke up underground and just at the mean time was gonna hit by a coming train and he ran but was tripped over, I was like "can you not?!!" Such an old and stupid act!

  38. Did ask.com for what is the deal with keifer s. whispering all the time. It's gotten so irritating that, not only was I compelled to find a reason, but I've had more fun reading all the comments than watching the show. Never watched 24, but you're losing me, Touch!

    ReplyDelete

    1. Give 24 a try, really. Watch the first Season and then decide. There is really no comparison between that and Touch. I have to say, I never noticed any annoying whispering on 24. It was simply riveting.

      Delete
    2. I agree, 24 was fantastic, especially the first season. Don't let the whispering in Touch prevent you from giving 24 a try! Sure, Kiefer is out of breath in 24...but you don't realize it so much because he is running around. [Or maybe because I watched it first I didn't really notice it.]

  39. Speak up people I can't hear you!!!! What's with all the whispering around here?

    Bahahaha

  40. This is funny. I was just telling my wife if I didn't like Touch so much, I would stop watching it because Kiefer Sutherland is always whispering. I saw something on TMZ a few weeks ago. He was smoking a cigarette. Maybe he's smoking too many. Hopefully it's not a medical condition.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Sometimes it sounds like the whole cast has asthma! LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  42. My husband and I imitate him all the way through the show...it makes for good laugh therapy...not sure why we continue to watch... We say, "Go Jack Bauer, go... Run, Jack, run..." I think you have it right: as Jack Bauer, the breathlessness was plausible to the storyline. In Touch, only a few scenes are suspenseful but he continues to whisper all the way through. Lazy acting? And someone said above that the other characters are doing it too, now. I think I actually saw one of them lower his voice in mid-sentence while talking to Jack -- just to make it not seem so ludicrous that one half of the dialogue was in a whisper and the other at a normal decible. Can't understand why the director has not said anything to him.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Just to check the "whispering voice" I watched one his first movies. His voice was not special at all. All really good movie stars have great unique looks and totally recognisable voices. This raspy whisper is unique to Keifer. Maybe it's medical...

    ReplyDelete
  44. I too ended up here because of the "Whispering Keifer" phenomenon. 24 was fun to watch, but even then, the show could almost have been totally characterized by Keifer inside some ductwork somewhere! Only then, inside the ductwork, instead of whisper/yelling "Jake!", he whisper/yelled "Chloe!" into him cell phone!!!

    ReplyDelete
  45. We have skipped a few of the Touch shows because it was so very frustrating to watch it with Kiefer whispering all the time. I kept yelling at him on the TV to SPEAK UP!!! It's too bad because we basically like the show. Speak up Kiefer - you're losing our interest. We've heard commercials that he's done in a normal voice so we don't think it's medical.

    ReplyDelete
  46. And why does Jake walk and run with his arms straight down at his sides?

    ReplyDelete
  47. I knew I couldn't be the only one. I like the premise but the constant heavy whisper is SO obnoxious and the constant Jake, Jake, Jake, OMG, he can't answer you.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Finally.... a support group for those of us who watch Touch. Now if only we could get Kiefer into a 12 Step Program for Whisper Cessation...

    ReplyDelete
  49. Oh, I love that, a support group. very clever :) I am so happy that so many other people find it as annoying as I do...at first I wasn't sure if it was just me; apparently not even close!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Yeah, it's crazy such a terrible acting ! (and I was a fan of "24" too)

One other thing is that he always whispers imperiously "NOW !" at the end of every sentence. (As if he longed for a more "Jack Bauer" action !)
This acting performance is unbearable or... funny. :)

    ReplyDelete
  51. Thank God, I~m not alone, I thought I was going deaf. But its becoming a trend in tv series, the guy in Person of Interest also whispers.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Omg. I, too, was googling for the same stuff as you guys and ended up here. In addition to the always out of breath and yelling Jake, Jake; I also get annoyed with his constant looking around. It's like he's a pigeon and can stop his head. Especially when he is on a cell phone. Totally bugged me about 24 too. And what's with all the blinking when he is trying to get teary eyed and sad? Toddlers do that. I really liked the first season with all it's randomness that comes together in the end.. But this season is so stupid and like they agreed they would put him back in Bauer mode but without the weapons, training or CTU..

    ReplyDelete
  53. Yes, folks we are not all crazy. For whatever reason these acting traits did not completely ruin "24", they did doom Touch. I just read that the show is being cancelled. The watered down Bauer referred to in the last (May 7) comment above just was not cutting it. FINALLY we will be rid of this torture that somehow we had a morbid need to watch anyway. On the brighter side, rumors now abound that "24" might be resurrected. Now they're talking!

    1. I was thrilled when I read your post about 24 coming back...sure enough they announced that tonight with the Fall lineup. It is coming back for 12 episodes. I will most certainly watch that (if/until it gets annoying), but the out of breath thing can work in an action packed drama. Let's hope it is a good show and good acting.

  55. OK, I just searched Keifer Southerland whisper. He reminds me of William Shatner over-acting! Once Boston Legal came out he could laugh at himself! I loved that show! Maybe we need to wait for Keifer to mature a bit. It takes longer for some. I still have not! I am in my 50's. Cheers Stephen

  58. LOL..Now this is funny. Thought I was the only one. Kept asking my husband, "Why is he constantly whispering?", then we started imitating him, too (like above comment).. He is so annoying, his dad doesn't do that, just wanted to jump through the screen and yell "Stop That!!". Then I Googled it and lo and behold up popped this page with TONS of people asking the same thing. I don't know if he thinks he is being more dramatic or if he has some physical damage that is causing this but somebody needs to send him this comment section and he needs to quit dong that! It is beyond annoying. Someone might as well run their fingernail down a blackboard! He and the guy on Person of Interest are charter members in the whisper-talkers club (anyone remember the low talker on Seinfeld?)! Please, some coach somewhere, make him stop!!

    ReplyDelete
  59. LOL, I finally figured that I couldn't be the only one this annoyed with his whispering, so I turned to Google and ended up here. You all have totally validated my feelings! The constant use of "Jake" bugged me first, but the whispering bugs me far more! Totally wrecks the show for me, especially when, as commented above, he is in dialogue with another character who is speaking in a normal voice! I also concluded that, unless he has physically damaged his voice, he must feel that he is being more dramatic.

I also miss the worldwide aspects of the first season. I guess it's far easier to make everything a conspiracy. If they are cancelling the show, I hope they at least end it properly to give us some closure.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I searched for annoying voice. Unlike some of you, 24 was already ruined for me because of his irritating voice. Since season 2 of Touch did not get better, I too will stop watching. I noticed that he did a different voice in The Confession with John Hurt. Truly a masterpiece, so he should drop the stupid whispering in Touch.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I laughed my ass off to learn that I wasn't the only person that was irritated to distraction by the Terrorist Whisperer. And I can get him talking to his kid all the time, but yelling his name constantly, when you knew he WASNT GOING TO ANSWER was really annoying.

My poor family. When something irritates me I have to become more irritating that the original irritant and I CANNOT STOP imitating him. JAKE! I HAVE SOMETHING REALLY IMPORTANT TO WHISPER TO YOU! If I had a nickel for every time I had to ask what happened because I was whispering over his whispering, honing my acting skills and whatnot.

Dont get me wrong I love 24 and Touch and watched both in marathons that make life worth living. But that really accentuates the holy whisper. Could he be hoarse since his only other tone of voice is screaming? I think it's the danger of being your own exec producer and he thinks its sexy.

It was so sweet how in season 1 of Touch he ran like a total nerd and then he must have went to the Anti Terrorist University to become a bad ass because Martin/Jack/Keifer was suddenly leaping tall buildings with a single whisper.

KEIFER! STOP IT! DO IT! DO IT NOW!

    ReplyDelete
  62. The Whisper. That's not Hot.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I loved during Touch to either scream or whisper, Chloe, reposition the satellite.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Keifer/Martin/Jack should not be allowed to reproduce again. Jake, despite all his issues, was as cute as Kim was stupid. Okay, she was cute too.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Its an acting technique. If u see him in interviews he is never speaking this way. Its suppose to convey the sense of urgency, the idea of moving quickly and frantically through the story most notably picked up from 24. Im guessing only neurotic s let it bother them but this guy is a rare talent that completed 8 seasons of a show that no other actor could have pulled off.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Although it does convey a sense of urgency, and moving quickly and bla bla bla... more than 80% of the show does not need this. So glad I found this blog! I'm glad it is not me, it is true and real... Let Kiefer Sutherland from now on be known as the "TV Show Whisperer", or "Astma Actor" !

    ReplyDelete
  67. November 11 - still no clue about Kiefer's behavior. :]

    ReplyDelete
  68. After two seasons of hearing Kiefer out of breath, I have had enough. Shame, because I was a fan of "24" as well.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Oh boy...I just finished Touch on Netflix and kept wondering why does KS always walk into any room, and act like he is rushing (no matter what everyone else is doing) and has to whisper and out of breath - a lay over from 24 is what I think. I sit there and say...GET A VOICE AND QUIT THE whispering - if someone actually spoke to me in that way I would say TALK :-) Loved TOUCH but it could do without the constant voice distractions.

    ReplyDelete
  70. This is hilarious! I googled Keifer Sutherland Whisper. Lol! I LOVED him in 24. I think he is extremely attractive, too. But the whispering is making me nuts. Uuggh. I hate whispering.

    ReplyDelete
  71. same as everyone else! the whispering and "jake"ing are so annoying. and who would leave their kid behind or sitting in a car by himself (stay here jake!) when a) someone is out to kill the kid, and b) he's known to run off all the time.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Hello fellow sufferers. The whispering was so annoying that I had to stop watching it in English. I am watching it in Spanish. I can not believe that with so many people involved in creating a TV series nobody told him how annoying his whispering was....
I have not watched 24 but with these 2 seasons of Touch I have had enough of Kiefer Sutherland's whispering for a lifetime...

    ReplyDelete
  73. I too googled "Jack Bauer out of breath" and came here. Even when the guy is standing still, he's out of breath. I'm currently doing a "24" marathon, and it's getting to me so much, I can't continue.

... that, and that Sherry Palmer and the actress that portrays here is so freaking annoying.

    ReplyDelete
  74. The show is canceled but is KS aware of how many people he alienated? As a teacher, I've been told that to gain the attention of the class sometimes it is better to whisper rather than yell. Perhaps he wanted to make sure his dialogue was the most compelling, that people really paid attention to what he had to say. As if being the star and exec prod of the show was not enough attention. So, I listened and what he said was, "Jake. Jake! Jake!" Ha, ha, ha!!

    ReplyDelete
  75. I started watching Touch on Netflix and kiether Sutherland is really ticking me off. I googled "Kiefer Sutherland Whisper Acting" because I thought it might have me a method in acting that I didn't know about like the Meisner method. Nope not a real thing more of an annoying character choice. Also if anyone needs one of those animal shaped backpack kid leashes its this boy.

  76. I would have quite liked to watch the series Touch but after only 2 episodes I can't stand any more of Kiefer Sutherland's breathlessness so I've dumped it. Shame as it could be a good series with the right actor.

  78. Thank you for your post! LOL! Like everybody else I googled "Kiefer Sutherland whispering", and here I am! I think I will stop watching Touch, because I am so tired of the whispering-out of breath-JAAAAAAAAAAKE play. Somebody should tell this guy. It is just the most annoying play I have seen in years. Kiefer, try a bit of oxygen and take a break. Thank you anyway for posting about this, it feels good to be actually part of a big anti-KS-Whispering community. I feel much better! Greetings from France!

  79. He's back and still gasping for air in Designated Survivor. Somebody get the oxygen mask and inhaler ready, eventually those lungs are going to shut down for good.......

  80. OMGoodnes, as with the majority of you, I googled why is Kiefer Sutherland whispering all the time and of course I came here. My question is why in the heck has he continued to whisper through so many different roles and alienating fans? I really like designated Survivor however halfway through the second episode I find myself pausing the television to find out what in the heck is wrong with Kiefer Sutherland I can't stand it!
