The morning of Day 6 we took the tour of the
Grand Ole Opry. The tour was very interesting...and unfortunately they did not have a show going on when we were in town - and I wasn't going to delay the trip by 2 days to wait for one. Bad planning on my part.
After the tour of the Grand Ole Opry we headed into town for lunch then hit the road for Memphis. The first stop in Memphis was
Elvis' home before Graceland. Of course that is a private house, so we were only able to drive by and take pictures.
Then it was time for something a little different. The
Crystal Shine Grotto, located in Memorial Park Cemetery. When I think of cemeteries, I think of gravestone after gravestone...but the Memorial Park Cemetery was beautiful, designed very nicely. And within this area was the Crystal Shine Grotto, a man made cave that was built in the 1930s. Inside are scenes depicting Christ's journey from birth to resurrection.

We saw the Elvis statue and the skyline of the city from a park. We walked around a bit and had dinner at a BBQ place, I had the ribs, and they were delicious. Overall I liked Memphis more than Nashville
